Interactive Fiction

I'm talking about more than the old-fashioned "Choose Your Own Adventure" books from my youth. New tools such as Twine and Ink have elevated the medium to a fairly respectable genre as well as made it easy for new voices to emerge.

Clan Bell

Discovering your past can be both fun and frustrating, especially along family lines where the details are sketchy. It was exciting to finally trace my family all the way back to the 1600's -- and our ties to the Scottish Clan Bell! My wife and I attend Celtic festivals and Highland Games in our area as official clan commissioners so feel free to stop by and say 'hi' !

Story Games

The intersection between playing games and writing fiction has grown since the early days of Dungeons & Dragons. You can now sit down with a handful of friends and create new worlds with 'Microscope', or remake a messed-up tale of failed ambitions from your favorite Cohen Bros film with 'Fiasco'. There are literally dozens of great games out there and I intend on trying as many as I can.
